The NSCC is a nonprofit organization operated by volunteers. Revenue is generated by annual dues, merchandise sales, and donations. Funds are budgeted periodically for a national conference to be held at locations around the United States and to maintain the publication of a club magazine filled with informative articles and pictures of Shelley and Wileman (the predecessor to Shelley) china. The Club also supports a variety of other functions such as regional meetings, Shelley sales and other events.

The Club operates under a set of Bylaws. Officers of the Club include a president, president-elect, secretary and treasurer. The officers work with the board of directors who represent different areas of the country and are elected to serve three-year terms.
